Occupational Health, at Sunderland Council, takes a holistic approach, focusing on your wellbeing and mental and physical health in the workplace.
The team consists of Doctors, nurses, physiotherapist, counselling team and admin support.
Our counselling team are all BACP registered and working towards accreditation.

What do we offer?
We offer a confidential counselling service for a range of workplace issues alongside personal issues such as: bereavement, anxiety, family problems, depression.
Our counsellors will work with you in a person-centred way: offering a safe, supported and non-judgemental space for you to explore your issues.
We are able to offer 4 sessions of counselling. Sessions last 50 minutes and take place on a fortnightly basis.
We offer counselling face to face, by telephone or via a secure online platform.

- Together for Children
- Sunderland Care and Support
- Tyne and Wear Fire Service

Our counselling service is based at the Occupational Health Unit at Thorney Close in Sunderland

- Mindfulness and Meditation courses

- Mindfulness based Stress reduction (MBSR)
